How to freeze blackberries
If you have already had a read of the ‘how to freeze strawberries article’, then this method for freezing blackberries is similar to that except for one thing…
Firstly place a sheet of waxed / greased baking paper on a baking / cookie sheet, then place the blackberries on (do not wash the blackberries – this will make them go more mushy once defrosted if you do). Make sure not to put any bruised or bad fruit on the tray. When placing the blackberries down do not let the fruit touch each other otherwise you will end up with a clump of fruit.
Place the cookie / baking tray in the freezer and allow a good few hours to freeze. Remove the tray of fruit from the freezer and gather the blueberries together and place in an airtight container or freezer back to store again back in the freezer until needed. By placing them on a baking / cooking tray first this ensures that the blackberries don’t all stick together.
